Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia – after 40 hours of navigation last 9th August concluded the Tenth Edition of Carthago Dilecta Est, the historic regatta “Rome-Carthage” which is a long distance race on the Mediterranean. Competitors start from Rome Fiumicino racing to Ventotene in the Tirrenian then down to the finish line at Sidi Bou Said.
In the second part of the regatta, Ventotene-Sidi Bou Said, quite long and sailed with weak winds had forced the participant boats to various restarts, Grifone III took top honours repeating the success of the past edition. Second place in IRC and ORC the Comet 45S Dakar 2008-Libertine skippered by Sergio Papagni with sails made by Banks Sails Italy and designed with Spidertech™ Integrated System. The Comet had won the first part of the regatta, Fiumicino-Ventotene both in IRC and ORC Class, sailing a tactically brilliant race under light and instable wind conditions.

Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia - Si è conclusa dopo oltre 40 ore di navigazione il 9 agosto scorso la X edizione della Carthago Dilecta Est, la regata “Roma - Cartagine” organizzata dal Circolo Velico Ventotene, partita da Fiumicino il 2 agosto.
La seconda tappa della regata Ventotene-Sidi Bou Said, lunga e caratterizzata da venti deboli ha costretto le barche concorrenti a numerose ripartenze, proclama vincitore Grifone III, lo scafo della Guardia di Finanza che bissa il successo dello scorso anno. Ottimo risultato per il Comet 45S Dakar 2008-Libertine con al comando Sergio Papagni che con vele Banks Sails Italia realizzate con tecnologia Spidertech™ si piazza secondo nelle classifiche IRC e ORC. L’imbarcazione, formata da un equipaggio misto del Circolo Velico Ventotene e dell’Achab Yacht Club e la squadra velica della Federazione del Senegal si era aggiudicata la prima fase della manifestazione, la tappa di avvicinamento Fiumicino-Ventotene vincendo sia la classifica in tempo compensato ORC, sia quella IRC dopo aver splendidamente condotto una prova segnata da vento leggero ed instabile.
