Dexia Farr40 - Shagen (DEN)

Dynamic starting for Calvi Lightbay di Alberini, first Farr40 of the Italian fleet with sails in Spidertech membranes.
July 12nd. Few hours sleeping, a difficult travel and a heavy regatta did not create particular problems to the crew of Calvi, racing for the first time in the international circuit with Montefusco’s sails realized with the Spidertech technology. With 22-24 knotes and choppy wave the racing boat has been fast and competitive, ranking 9th among 23 competitors (11, 9, 10 the middle times). Mascalzone Latino had to withdraw dismasting during sailing close to the wind. The crew of the Game On is at the moment the first Italian team in the chart.
July 13th. Still a heavy wind from W-SW in the three daily races. The specialists of the wind ranking first: at the top Opusone of Wolfang Stolz (DE) followed by Kokomo of Lang Walker (AUS) and third Hooligan of Marcus C. Blackimore (AUS). Calvi Game On loses only a single position continuing however to rank well. Alberini and his crew rank now 10th overall, holding behind them other Italian teams (9, 13, the 11the daily placings).
July 14th. Two masts with 16/22 knotes and short wave have won the Danish race of the circuit. The wind, lighter than the other days, has allowed more technical regattas and many changes of sails at prow. Finally Calvi Game On have been able to inaugurate the new medium genoa , very fast and resistant even with more knotes compared to the standard target. Alessandro Battistelli, tailer of Game On states as follows “Sailing close to the wind by using the new medium – as Alessandro Battistelli, tailer of Game On states – the boat raced so fast. In some particular moments sailing close to the wind we were the fastest of the group”. At the end the winner was Opusone taking the lead from the very fisrt day with regular placings (1,5,1,1,1,8,2) followed by Hooliogan (7,12,1,2,2,2,1,4). Kokomo (5,2,4,3,4,3,7,6) ranked always third till the last race.
