LIbertine cruise during a costal race
After Cala Galera, Capir and Punta Ala successfull races, Comet 45S Libertine’s magic moment goes on. Maurizio Biscardi shipowner’s boat ran with a Spidertech-Banks Sails full set. In light wind conditions (6-12 knots), the boat skippered by Lorenzo Bodini won on overall corrected time. While Libertine was usually fast in windy conditions in the past, upwind performances in light wind were a real surprise, according to the Trieste’s skipper Lorenzo Bodini: < < during the first part of the race, sailing with less than 5 knots northerly wind, we went ahead staying close to the bigger boats: during the first night we were becalmed and we hit a northerly route to follow the wind. The sails’ shapes were excellent for me, designed ad hoc for Libertine: stable, rigid and powerful, as a medium displacement sailing boat need >>
Aereonauica Militare’s boat Aria Tx Active, served by Banks SaiItalia-Spidertech membrane, finished 9th thanks to two satisfying results in St. Tropez costal races.
